Mt Portofino and San Fruttuoso

Today I have just returned from a long, hard trek. Here are the spoils.

The start of the Italian Riviera. That's Genova in the distance.

Just to the right of the previous pic, that town is the gorgeous Camogli, which is dialect for "House of the wife".

Punta Chiappa, which means "point bum cheek" in Italian (or maybe dialect). The boat is for scuba divers.

And here's me. The water you see in the background is actually a long way down.

The track goes right along a cliff edge, and theres nothing but a chain to hold onto. Not for the faint of heart.

The rewards of this trek are some awesome views.

And then after a couple of hard hours walking, you finally arrive at the San Fruttuoso abbey. There are no roads there, but a series of walking tracks.

It is set in a dramatic location, and is as popular as it is beautiful.
